PROFILE
The Legal Advisor Unit was set up in April 2003 with one L48 legal advisor assigned to this Department. In 2007,an additional two L41 posts were approved for this unit. The officers are on placement transfer from Attorney General’s office.
FUNCTION
This unit’s function is to advise DCA on legal matters that are associated with the functionality of the department.
PROGRAM & ACTIVITIES
Interpretation of Law
To assist DCA in interpreting relevant laws which are applicable in carrying out DCA’s role in the aviation industry.
Advisory
To advise DCA on legal matters referred from time to time.
Documentation
To draft or revise the legal documents such as notices, directives, contracts, agreements and memorandum of understanding to protect the interests of the Department.
Drafting of Laws and Regulations
To assist DCA in drafting new laws/regulations or amendments to laws/regulations. |
